Descriptions:

Coffins / The Arm & Sword Of A Bastard God “Split” CD
Coffins has made a big name for themselves in the year since the release of their universally praised 2nd full length "The Other Side Of Blasphemy". Fans of death metal, doom and crust have all flocked to the impossibly catchy old school approach Coffins call their own. On this split, Coffins returns with their first new material since the release of the LP, two brand new classics and a cover in tribute to old gods Pungent Stench. SoCal's long-but-awesomely-monikered The Arm & Sword Of A Bastard God make their four track debut on the split. Similar in style to both Graves At Sea and Coffins with some added dirt n grime production wise and insanely pissed gutteral vocals, The Arm & Sword... are among the best new bands to come from the barren sunburnt wastelands outside LA. The CD also features amazing new artwork from our office mate David D'Andrea. Features special vertical gatefold packaging.

Half Makeshift “L’anse Amort” CD
Half Makeshift is the solo project of Pennsylvania's Nathan Michael. The first release under the Half Makeshift moniker, Aphotic Leech, released by Utech Records, was a single expansive track of strained piano, ominous war drums and subterranean guitar noise described by Brainwashed as "nothing short of massive" and "an entire world of sound with viscerally effective moments." L'anse Amort contains four tracks that expand on Aphotic Leech's density, creating more space and reflection, more peaks and valleys. The monumental 17 minute opener "Whale Heart" builds from a simple melody and crackling electro-static to eventually collapse under its own weight in a huge Nadja-esque wall of drone riffery. Tracks like "Oblivion" and the title track recall the vast landscapes of Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore and even Radiohead at their most adventurous. Different from anything previously released by 20 Buck Spin, L'anse Amort is epic in a way most "post-rock" bands can only aspire to. Comes specially packaged in a vertical gatefold with four photographic postcards.

Finally, a quick announcment regarding a new album to be released later this year on 20 Buck Spin: Henrik “Nordvargr” Bjorkk is a known name to most in the underground experimental/noise world. He has released a prolific amount of material in recent years. As long time followers of MZ.412 and his solo work we are happy to announce the release of “Northern Black Supremacy” an album by his Vargr alter-ego. Vargr is essentially a black metal project – black metal of a bestial, lo-fi, bordering on outright noise variety. Bands that come to mind when listening to “Northern Black Supremacy” include Ildjarn, Abruptum, Leviathan, French Black Legions, Ayat, Beherit and of course MZ.412. Audio abominations from the depths of an underground torture chamber. Twisted, raw and completely ugly. Expect it in October/November.
